A decal sheet from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:48 scale devoted to the Bell P-39 Airacobra aircraft of the most successful Soviet ace to fly the type. The American Airacobra, with its cannon firing through the hollow propeller shaft, found its greatest use on the Eastern Front: Soviet pilots, who called it the Kobra, achieved more air victories on it than the pilots of any other country, and the best of them were among the absolute elite of Allied fighter pilots.
A model with the markings of a particular ace is always more than an anonymous aircraft, because it carries the story of its pilot. The sheet lets you build an Airacobra in 1:48 as the personal aircraft of a famous fighter pilot with everything that belongs to it, and it makes an excellent addition to a collection devoted to the Eastern Front or to Allied deliveries of equipment.
Apply the decals on a gloss base; settle the stars and the personal markings in a drop of water and align their position against photographs in the literature. On the curved areas of the fuselage use a decal softener and let the subject draw down. After coating over, fine-tune the weathering, as aircraft on the Eastern Front carried the traces of intensive field service, bearing in mind that the personal aircraft of aces tended to be kept more carefully.
