1:48 Decals Ukrainian Foxbats: MiG-25PDS

FOXBOT decal sheet 1:48 - the MiG-25PDS of the Ukrainian Air Force

A set of decals in 1:48 scale focused on MiG-25PDS interceptors operated in Ukraine. The product is not a kit and not a masking set - it holds a decal sheet intended for marking a model that has already been built and sprayed.

The real subject

The MiG-25 was a twin-engine interceptor designed for very high speeds and great altitudes, with a welded steel airframe and twin vertical tails. The version designated PDS came from an upgrade of older interceptors, above all in the radar and the equipment. After the break-up of the Soviet Union part of these aircraft remained on the territory of Ukraine and carried new national insignia.

The order of decals against varnish

• Let the camouflage cure properly and only then apply gloss varnish - a decal on a soft coat is hard to position.
• Apply the decals exclusively onto a gloss layer; it seals the pores and prevents silvering under the film.
• Once the decals are dry, varnish the surface again and only then do the washes and the weathering on that layer, otherwise the edges of the film will be undercut.
• Apply the final matte or satin varnish at the very end; it evens the sheen out and hides the edge of a decal.
• Keep a long enough interval between the individual coats of varnish, and in high humidity rather longer.

Who the set is for

For modelers building the MiG-25 in 1:48 scale who want particular Ukrainian markings instead of the general contents of a box. The work calls for a mastered sequence of varnish, decals, varnish, weathering, so it suits more advanced builders.

This is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints, varnish and a decal softener are not included in the package.
