This version of the sheet is prepared for Phantoms in what is called the Southeast Asia camouflage, that is in a three-tone green and brown finish with a light underside. A different camouflage scheme also means differently executed technical markings, different backgrounds and different shades of lettering, which is why the publisher divides the decals into two separate sheets. The set adds lettering and warning markings around the air intakes, that is in a place that is clearly visible on a finished model and tends to be handled only in simplified form in kits. The publisher is Furball Aero-Design, an American specialist in decals for tactical and naval aviation.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II served with the US Air Force, the Navy and the Marine Corps and was built in many versions. The Southeast Asia camouflage consisted of two shades of green and one brown on the upper surfaces and a light underside, and it was the standard on US Air Force machines in the period of the late 1960s and the 1970s.
The procedure is the same as with any other good decals, only with more emphasis on the divided surface: a gloss base, close trimming of the film, a brief soak and seating on a dampened spot. Around the edges of the intakes and in the corners, use a decal softener and only press the decal down with a cotton swab; do not pull on it, as thin film once torn cannot be joined again. Once it has dried, wipe any adhesive residue away with a damp cloth and unify the whole model with a final clear coat in the sheen you want.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory for a kit you already own. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
