A narrowly focused accessory: pre-cut kabuki masks intended for the inner side of the cockpit canopy of a model of the F/A-18F in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a complete masking set — masks for the outer glazing and for other areas are made separately. The extent of the package is not stated here; check it before you buy.
A model with the canopy open shows the inside of the glazing as well. The framing and its surroundings are a different color inside from the exterior of the airframe, and without a mask they are painted with a brush, which on glossy clear plastic practically always leaves marks. Masks for the inner side cannot be replaced by the outer ones: they are mirrored and, because of the thickness of the clear part, they have different dimensions. That is exactly why the manufacturer sells them as a separate item.
Paint the inner side before the outer one and let it cure thoroughly — touching imperfectly dried paint with a mask will leave an imprint. Glue the clear part with a glue intended for clear plastic; cyanoacrylate glue near glazing releases fumes that fog the surface permanently. If you are building the model with the canopy closed, you will not need this accessory and the set for the outer side will do.
The set holds masking material only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
