A decal sheet from the Hungarian maker SBS Model devoted to Fiat G.50 Freccia fighters in the service of the Finnish Air Force. The decals in 1:48 scale open up one of the most interesting combinations of an Italian design and a northern theater.
The Fiat G.50 Freccia, meaning arrow, belonged to the first generation of Italian all-metal monoplane fighters and was powered by a Fiat radial engine. Finland bought these machines at the start of the Winter War, and Finnish pilots went on to fight with them in the Continuation War as well, where the G.50, despite its conservative performance, achieved excellent results thanks to the quality of the pilots. The Finnish Freccias wore northern camouflage and Finnish national insignia - a look markedly different from the Italian machines.
Apply the decals over a gloss surface; on the fuselage spine with its raised details let a softener do its work. Align the tactical markings according to the instructions while they are still damp. A final matte coat and restrained weathering match the photographs of Finnish machines, which were well maintained but flown intensively.
The package contains decals only - the aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included.
