HGW wet transfers Fw 190A-8/R2 Reichsverteidigung 1:48 are ultra-thin marking transfers that look painted on once dry.
Responsibility details are not available.
A marking set from HGW for the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 fighter in the period of the Defense of the Reich. It uses wet transfer technology: once applied and dry, the carrier film is peeled away and only the marking itself stays on the surface, with no glossy edge. The result therefore looks like markings sprayed or painted straight on, with none of the visible step typical of ordinary decals.
The Fw 190A-8/R2 was among the heavily armed versions, the Sturmbock, used against bomber formations over the Reich. The machines carried prominent band and tactical markings of the Defense of the Reich units, and this set captures them.
Apply onto a smooth surface, ideally one gone over with gloss varnish. Once laid on, the transfer can be repositioned for a while; then squeeze the water out from underneath, let it dry for several hours and peel the carrier film away carefully. For a perfect result, sand the area lightly with a very fine abrasive and flatten it as needed.
This is a marking set, not an aircraft model. The kit itself is not included in the package.
