About product

Aires Fouga Magister flaps - closed in 1:48 scale

A resin set of landing flaps from Aires. It replaces the flaps of a plastic kit with a more accurate casting in the retracted, closed state, that is as they look in flight. It is an accessory for more experienced modelers, built into a base model of the Fouga Magister in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The Fouga CM.170 Magister was a French two-seat jet trainer of the 1950s. It stood out for its butterfly V-tail and became one of the first jet trainers built in series. It served in a number of countries for pilot training and in some cases on light combat tasks as well.

Building and painting tips

First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding resin. Lay down a primer before painting; the engraving and the transitions of the wing blend better into one surface with the set in place.

Who the set is for

  • For builders of a Fouga Magister model in 1:48 scale
  • For modelers building the aircraft in flight configuration with the flaps retracted
  • For more experienced builders used to working with resin
  • For collectors of aviation detail

This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
