This larger conversion set from Hauler in 1:48 scale rebuilds the standard Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer tank destroyer into the experimental variant known as Starr, with the main gun mounted rigidly straight into the front of the hull. It contains resin castings supplemented with photo-etched parts. It is an aftermarket accessory for modelers, not a complete kit. It is based on the dimensions of the Tamiya kit.
The Hetzer was a light German tank destroyer from the end of the Second World War built on the proven 38(t) chassis. The Starr version was a development attempt to simplify the design by mounting the gun rigidly, without the usual movable mount; it practically never reached series production.
This is a demanding conversion that calls for reworking the front of the hull of the base model. Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and fit them precisely; bend the photo-etch in a bender. Fix everything with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Recommended for experienced modelers.
This is a conversion accessory for the build; the base model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
