Eduard 1:48 Hunter F.6 landing flaps is a photo-etched set of landing flaps for a model of the British Hawker Hunter F.6 jet fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not an aircraft model.

This is an accessory photo-etched set, not an aircraft model. The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is narrowly focused: it replaces the plastic landing flaps of the wing of the Hawker Hunter F.6 fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale with metal parts and makes it possible to build them extended. The plastic kit is not included in the package.
Injection-molded flaps tend to be molded in the closed position from the factory and their edges are too thick because of the technology. An etching manages both a realistically thin edge profile and the inner side of the flap and the exposed part of the wing, which cannot be seen at all with the flap closed. A model standing on the ground with the flaps extended looks livelier and reveals a piece of the structure, which on a British fighter of the 1950s is a rewarding subject. The intervention is irreversible, though, as part of the wing has to be cut away.
Study the instructions first and plan out the cuts, and only then cut. Cut with a fine-toothed saw or with a cutting disc and rather a little at a time, and level the finished edge with a file. Separate the etchings with a scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends in an etching bender or between two blades. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or with thin epoxy, which gives time to align the part. Degrease the metal and go over it with a base coat, otherwise the paint will not hold. Glue the assembled flaps to the wing only once the lower surface has been painted, as neither a brush nor a nozzle will reach into the narrow gaps between the ribs.
The set is an accessory for a kit, which it does not contain. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
