The accessory set 1:48 Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik LööKplus from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is a detailing set for a plastic kit in 1:48 scale, not an aircraft model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
LööKplus is the extended version of the LööK accessory range from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Sets in this range are built around a resin instrument panel finished in color and completed with photo-etched belts, and the plus version adds further resin accessories to that base in a single package. The set is intended for the kit of the Il-2 Shturmovik ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale and does not itself hold a model. Check the exact composition of the particular set and the number of parts with the manufacturer, and with them that the set matches the kit you own.
The Il-2 was a Soviet single-engine ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, meant for strikes against ground targets. Its defining design feature was the armored bathtub, which formed the load-bearing part of the forward fuselage and protected the engine, the radiators and the crew. It was built in single-seat and two-seat form and ranks among the most numerously produced combat aircraft of its day.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the remains of the mold release agent, because otherwise neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, never snap them off, and sand with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement will not join resin. Do not overspray the colored areas of the panel; just blacken the surroundings carefully and bring the finished assembly out with a dark wash. Dry fit every part, because the installation in the fuselage tends to be tight.
This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
