This decal sheet brings a faithful imitation of wood texture in a light, natural shade in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a paint but decorative decals with which you easily create a convincing impression of wood without laboriously painting the grain by hand. The HGW brand has long specialized in wood imitations.
A light wood grain suits propellers, instrument panels, cockpit floors and walls, plywood fuselage skins and small interior fittings. You will appreciate it especially on models of the First World War and the golden age of aviation, where natural wood was an ordinary structural material.
Apply the decals to a smooth, gloss base, so that silvering bubbles do not form. A decal softener and a decal fixative help; slit larger areas so that they follow a shape well. Once dry, fix the surface with a clear coat and, if you like, shade it finely with oil colors for depth of grain.
The decals are supplied on their own. Paints, clear coat and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
