The Lockheed Martin F-35B is a single-seat combat aircraft and within the F-35 family it is the variant for short takeoff and vertical landing. The set is listed in 1:48 scale and is intended as an accessory for a plastic kit of this type.
Photo-etched parts, that is thin metal features etched into a continuous sheet in which they are held by small tabs. Photo-etching manages thicknesses that cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic, and it is therefore used where a part should be genuinely thin at scale. An overview of the areas of the aircraft the set deals with is given in the maker's instructions.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with scissors, which bend the metal. Level the remainder of the tab after cutting with a fine-grit file. They are folded over a straight edge, best in a bender or between two razor blades; make the fold in one movement, because repeated folding tires the metal and the part breaks. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic kits has no effect on metal. Before painting, degrease the parts and go over them with a primer intended for metal, otherwise the finish will come off while you handle them.
The kit, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
