Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird 1:48 - an Eduard masking set contains pre-cut kabuki masks for spraying the glazing frames of the model accurately. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of the aircraft but a masking set in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The masks are pre-cut from kabuki paper, a thin Japanese masking material with a mild adhesive that can be shaped on a curved surface and leaves no sticky residue on the model once removed. This is the standard form for masking from the outside; the manufacturer also makes a TFace variant for double-sided masking.
A model of the Blackbird in 1:48 scale is a large piece and its cockpits have small but clearly bounded glazing. That is exactly where any inaccurately drawn frame shows at once, because around it is a uniform dark area with no distracting detail. Pre-cut masks define the frames precisely, so the result looks clean even after a gloss clear coat and patina have been applied.
It suits modelers who are building a large model of the reconnaissance aircraft and want the glazing sharply separated from the skin, and those who want to save themselves hours of work with a scalpel and adhesive tape. It presupposes a matching kit in 1:48 scale.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check beforehand that the set matches the kit you are building.
