A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the model of the Do 17Z-7 in 1:48 scale, the EXPERT version. Compared with the basic BASIC extent it covers a wider range of masked areas. Nothing from the package is glued into the model; the contents are masks only.

How to spray through a mask properly

A mask on its own will not guarantee a crisp edge — the spraying technique makes it. Apply the paint in several thin coats and aim perpendicular to the surface, not at a sharp angle to the edge of the mask, or the stream of paint will run in under the edge. Lower pressure and a smaller amount of paint give a better result than one heavy pass. The last coat should be dry to the touch before the mask comes off.

Recommended sequence of work

• Degrease the clear parts and let them dry, and only then apply the masks.
• Spray the interior shade, so that the frames are not translucent from the inside.
• Lay down a thin primer, which will even the surface out and reveal any flaws in the filling.
• Spray the camouflage in thin coats perpendicular to the mask and at lower pressure.
• Take the mask off before the final clear coat, or an edge of the clear coat will stay visible.

Who the EXPERT version is for

For modelers who want the masking of the Do 17Z-7 solved with a single set and in the greatest possible extent, and for builds with open accesses, where more detail is on show than on a closed model. It is also useful when you are building a model with a weathered surface — the more the paint is worked, the more it matters that the basic edges are clean right from the start.

The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
