A 1:48 decal sheet for the heavy twin engine fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110C. The three machines offered cover the period from the Polish campaign to service in Norway.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the original idea the twin engine Bf 110 was to escort bombers deep over enemy territory and fight their way through for them. Against single engine opponents, however, it proved insufficiently agile, and after losses over England its role shifted to night fighting and to attacks on ground targets. The C form was the first to be mass produced and its recognition feature was the cowlings of its V engines with a rounded front section.
The first machine, with a code beginning M8, belonged to a Staffel commander who later became the founder of German night fighting, and is dated 1939 with a scheme of gray green surfaces and a light blue underside. The second aircraft, with a code beginning U8, flew in France in 1940 and carried different shades of upper camouflage. The third machine, with a code beginning LN, is set in Norway in 1941 and its finish corresponds to the later gray blue tones.
Three different schemes mean three different bases, so decide in advance which version you are building. The fuselage codes are long and twist easily while being laid down; lifting them with tweezers by the edge of the paper and letting them slide onto a wet surface helps. Once dry, check that the film does not overhang an edge anywhere and cut any overhang off with a fresh blade.
What you are buying is a printed sheet. The model of the twin engine fighter itself is a separate item.
