The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masking templates for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 110 E in night fighter configuration in 1:48 scale. The letter in the TFace designation means that the sheet is prepared for masking the glazing from both sides: from outside for the upper camouflage and from inside for the interior shade. It is made by Eduard, the Czech accessory manufacturer from Obrnice near Most. It is not a kit and it is not a decal sheet. The number of templates on the sheet is stated on the box.
A conventional mask deals only with the outer side. But the cockpit framing is painted on the inside as well, usually in the interior shade, and looking through the clear parts you can see that the inner side of the frames has been left transparent. The double-sided version removes that shortcoming, because it also contains mirror-cut masks for the inner side. On a twin-engine machine with long glazing and a large share of canopy area the difference shows at first glance, especially when you build the model with the canopy open.
Start with the inner side: degrease the glazing, apply the inner masks, spray the interior shade and let it dry properly. Only then fit the clear parts to the fuselage, apply the outer masks and continue with primer and the upper shades. Always spray in thin coats, press the edges of the masks down with a toothpick and remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried. If you are building the canopy open, bear in mind that the inner side of the frames will be visible, so it is worth paying attention to the quality of the surface under the paint as well.
The set contains masking templates only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
