Metal turnbuckles RAF late type (60 pieces) in 1:48 scale from GasPatch models — rigging turnbuckles in the British RAF form for tensioning biplane bracing faithfully.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of sixty metal turnbuckles in the late form of the British Royal Aircraft Factory, in 1:48 scale from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch models. This is not a model but fine turned metal fittings for the rigging of biplane bracing wires. The RAF late type matches the fittings used on British machines in the later phase of development.
The turnbuckle is threaded onto the rigging thread and serves to tension it and anchor it to the airframe. Faithful metal turnbuckles raise the realism of the bracing system markedly compared with plastic or resin imitations. Sixty pieces will cover machines with many struts too.
Thread the turnbuckle onto the rigging thread and fix it with a drop of super glue. Work with tweezers and a magnifier; the metal parts can be painted once degreased.
The set holds turnbuckles only. The rigging thread, glue and the airplane model are not included in the package.
