A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the MiG-15bis in 1:48 scale. The TFace description means that the set deals with the glazing from both faces, that is outside and inside. On a teardrop canopy, which is often built slid open, it shows: the frames are then not transparent when you look into the cockpit and the interior reads as finished. The set is not a model of the aircraft; it is an accessory for painting an already built model.
The MiG-15 was a single-seat jet fighter with a swept wing and swept tail surfaces. The MiG-15bis version was given a more powerful jet engine and further detail changes to the airframe and the armament. Typical features are the cylindrical fuselage with a nose air intake, the high-set horizontal tail on the fin, the airbrakes at the rear and a teardrop canopy. The aircraft was built in large numbers and served in a number of countries, including license production in Czechoslovakia.
Stick the inner masks on before you glue the canopy to the fuselage. Clean and degrease the surface beforehand and press the edges of the masks with a toothpick, so that paint cannot run underneath. Spray in thin layers and lift the masks slowly at a sharp angle, while the finish is only just touch-dry. Once the masks are on, cover the large clear areas of the canopy with ordinary masking tape.
This is an accessory for a model, not a model of an aircraft. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. We recommend checking the match with your own particular kit beforehand.
