The Zlin Z-126 belongs to the family of Czech Trener trainers. It is a two-seat low-wing aircraft with tandem seats and fixed tailwheel landing gear, which from the 1950s served for basic and advanced flying training. Machines of this line stayed in training for whole decades, they were flown in flying clubs and many of them are airworthy to this day. The cockpit therefore matters to the modeler: it is glazed along its whole length and the interior is visible from both sides.
SPACE are colored elements from Eduard with a raised relief, laid on a backing sheet. They take the place of painting small details by hand, which are hard to manage with a brush: instrument panels, side consoles, levers and placards get their color and their relief in one go. The set is prepared for 1:48 scale.
SPACE elements are not self-adhesive and have no adhesive layer of their own. First finish the area they are going onto in paint and let it dry thoroughly, then get the dust off it and degrease it. With a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, dampen only the backing paper under the element, not the whole sheet, and then lift the element off with pointed tweezers. Settle it in place with a drop of PVA glue and press it down with a soft tool so that it beds into hollows and edges as well; the manufacturer does not recommend super glue, and a decal softener would damage the printed layer. Work in good light and over a surface from which a small part can be picked up again. Try seats and frames dry before you fix them for good.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit in 1:48 scale. Paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
