A masking set for the P-51D/K Mustang 1:48 from HGW is an accessory for painting, not a kit of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model of the aircraft. The set serves to mask the glazing and other surfaces while spraying paint, so that the boundaries of the finish come out crisp and with no paint running underneath. Masks speed the work up markedly compared with cutting tape by hand, especially on the canopy frames. The set is intended for a model of the Mustang in the D and K versions in 1:48 scale; the scope of the masks and their form are stated on the box.
The P-51 Mustang was an American single-seat fighter whose late versions with the Merlin engine and a bubble canopy were among the most widespread escort fighters of the close of the Second World War. The D and K versions differed above all in the factory that built them and in the propeller used; the airframe was the same in its main features. The glazed bubble canopy makes masking the canopy one of the key operations of the whole build.
For modelers who spray with an airbrush and want clean boundaries to the finish, and for anyone who wants to save themselves the lengthy cutting of masks for the canopy frames. Even a less experienced builder will manage the use of it.
The accessory is supplied without the base model. The kit of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
