A set of photo-etched seat belts for the cockpits of Italian fighters of the Second World War, in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory. The belts are among the details that catch the eye immediately in an open cockpit, and a plastic kit either does not include them at all or has them merely molded onto the seat. The photo-etched version is thin and can be bent so that the straps hang freely over the edge of the seat.
Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than snapping them off. Make the bends over a metal edge, not between your fingers. They are bonded with super glue in a tiny amount. The belts look more faithful when they are curved and twisted slightly, as if someone had left them hanging. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer. Paint the fittings in a metallic shade and the webbing in a fabric shade; the difference in materials sells the detail.
The set contains photo-etched parts only. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
