This is a set of wet transfers from HGW, not an aircraft model. It holds the markings of the high-altitude version of the Supermarine Spitfire HF Mk.VIII fighter in 1:48 scale: national insignia, codes and individual aircraft markings. Once dry, wet transfers leave no visible carrier film.
The set concentrates on markings, that is national and unit insignia and codes for finishing the paint scheme of the model. Small technical stencils are covered by separate or combined versions. Because there is no carrier film, the result looks as if it had been sprayed straight onto the surface.
The base has to be smooth, glossy and degreased. Once laid on, the transfer can be slid into position; then squeeze the water out, leave it to dry for several hours and peel the carrier foil away. It is worth testing compatibility with the paints beforehand.
This is not an aircraft model, but a decal accessory. Paints, varnish and the model are not included in the package.
