A masking set for a model of the fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I in 1:48 scale, intended for the kit from the Tamiya firm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version of the British fighter that became one of the symbols of the Battle of Britain. The armament consisted of eight 7.7 mm machine guns distributed in the wings, the cabin had a narrow framed canopy, and you will recognize the machine by its slender fuselage and elliptical wing.
A masking set for the Spitfire Mk.I in 1:48 scale, intended for the kit from the Tamiya firm. Which piece belongs where and what the set masks are stated in the manufacturer's instructions; sort the individual pieces out beforehand according to them and leave them on the backing until you need them.
The masks belong on a finished, clean and degreased surface, and that before spraying. Press the edges down carefully, otherwise paint will run underneath them and the edge will be blurred. Apply the paint in thin layers and rather in two goes; a heavy coat flakes off beyond the masked area as well when the mask is removed. Take the mask off while the paint is dry only to the touch, and draw it back at an angle over itself. If the paint does run underneath after all, the overrun can be corrected with a pointed brush once the mask is off.
Anyone who does not want to cut sharp transitions between colors out of tape by hand will appreciate it, and it suits less experienced modelers too, because it takes away the least rewarding part of the work. Besides tweezers and a sharp point you need nothing else for it. The kit, the paints, the glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
