Montex - a masking set for the Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk.IX in 1:48 scale - precisely die-cut self-adhesive templates for a clean spray finish on the canopy and the markings of this British fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive die-cut Montex masks are the fastest way to perfectly sharp frames on the canopy of a model of the Spitfire LF Mk.IX in 1:48 scale. Besides the masks for the glazing, the range also allows for templates for spraying the national insignia, thanks to which you can do without decals - the markings merge with the camouflage and take weathering without any trouble. It is not a kit but an accessory for painting one; the masks are cut to fit a particular model, so check compatibility with your kit.
The LF designation was carried by Spitfire Mk.IX machines with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 engine, whose supercharger was tuned for lower altitudes - precisely where most of the combat over western Europe took place in the years 1943 to 1945. A whole range of machines flew with clipped wing tips, which raised the roll rate. The LF Mk.IX was one of the most widespread versions of the Spitfire of all, and Czechoslovak pilots with British squadrons flew it too.
Transfer the masks with tweezers onto a degreased surface and smooth the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick. Spray with an airbrush in light layers at right angles to the edge of the mask; let the last layer dry properly. Then take the masks off at a sharp angle - the frames will stay sharp with no touching up with a brush at all.
A masking accessory - the model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
