A photo-etched set of interior parts for the model of the Spitfire Mk.I in 1:48 scale, in the self-adhesive version designated by the abbreviation S.A.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version of the British fighter aircraft that became one of the symbols of the Battle of Britain. The elliptical wing, which gives the aircraft its unmistakable silhouette to this day, was not merely an effective shape: it allowed a thin profile and at the same time enough room for the armament and the landing gear. The early machines differ from the later versions in a number of details, and the cockpit is exactly one of the places where the differences are recognized best.
Photo-etched metal interior parts in 1:48 scale. The version designated by the abbreviation S.A. is self-adhesive: the parts have an adhesive layer on the back, so they are laid straight onto the plastic base and you do not have to work with glue where it would run across a visible surface. On the larger parts and in the places where certainty is needed it still pays off to add a tiny drop of super glue to the joint.
Rid the plastic base of grease and dust before laying the parts on, or the adhesive layer will not hold. Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and guide them with tweezers, because a self-adhesive part once laid on is hard to peel off. The make-up of the parts and where they go in the cockpit is described in the instructions from the manufacturer. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
