The 1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I late SPACE-3D Decals is a set of Eduard three-dimensional decals for the cockpit of a Spitfire Mk.I in its later form. It serves as an accessory for a plastic kit and is not a model itself.

An add-on set of three-dimensional decals from the SPACE line by the Czech manufacturer Eduard for the cockpit of a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I in its later form, 1:48 scale. The package contains no parts of the airframe; it is intended to raise the detail of an already built or part-built plastic model.
On a single-seat fighter the cockpit is the only place where the internal equipment is visible, and at the same time the place where hand-painted small dials show up fastest in 1:48. Three-dimensional decals have a noticeable thickness, so the instruments and controls stand out visually above the surface of the panel. The set is therefore an alternative to etched parts for modelers who do not want to get into folding metal. The extent of the package and the placing of the individual decals are dealt with in the instructions supplied with the set.
The Spitfire Mk.I with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine went through a number of modifications during production, which showed in the cockpit equipment too. Eduard therefore distinguishes the early and the later form and offers separate sets for them. Check which phase of production your kit represents before buying.
The proven procedure is clearly set out: first paint the cockpit completely and let it dry, then apply the decals, and only at the end build the parts into the fuselage. The opposite order ends with a damaged relief. Work in good light, moisten only the backing paper under the element with a sponge and a drop of detergent, transfer the element with tweezers and seat it at the first attempt. The procedure differs from waterslide decals: the element is fixed with PVA glue (white glue) and decal softener does not belong on it, as its chemistry would damage the printed resin.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
