An Eduard photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale for the Supermarine aircraft in the Mk.I version. It adds the details a plastic kit cannot reach at this scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched sheet is a thin metal sheet into which the outline and the relief of the individual parts have been etched chemically. It is used everywhere a plastic part is necessarily too coarse at scale: instrument panels and their bezels, seat belts with buckles, grab handles, grilles, footsteps and other small fittings. The set carries the Eduard brand and is intended for the Supermarine aircraft in the Mk.I version in 1:48 scale.
Photo-etched sets are usually cut for one particular kit and for one particular version of the machine. The manufacturer's instructions therefore state which type and which kit the sheet is intended for and what it contains. It is also worth finding out whether the parts are color-printed or will have to be painted, because that decides how much work awaits you at the instrument panel. The set is tied to 1:48 scale and will not fit models of another size.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with scissors and certainly not by breaking them off, or the edge will ripple. Level the remains of the tab with a fine file. Bend over the edge of a bending tool or a ruler and finish the fold with the flat side of a pair of tweezers. They are bonded with a tiny amount of super glue; polystyrene cement will not join metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint flakes off the smooth surface.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
