A figure of a US Air Force fighter pilot of the Vietnam War in 1:48 scale, intended for aircraft models, for a display cabinet and for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The equipment of a US Air Force fighter pilot of the Vietnam War consisted of a flight suit, a g-suit, a life vest and a helmet with a visor. A figure in all that has the typical bulk around the chest and the thighs, so it is recognizable on a model even without detailed painting.
It gives a model in 1:48 scale what it most lacks on a stand, namely a human sense of scale. It can be seated in an open cockpit, placed beside the nose gear or worked into a scene with ground crew. An adult figure comes out at about three and a half centimeters in this scale, so it fits even a smaller display cabinet.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part, sand the remainder and smooth the area. Washing and degreasing follow, otherwise the paint will not hold on the small areas. Paint from the base coat through the clothing to the equipment and leave the face for last. Put a thin wash into the folds and a dry brush on the edges. Finish the helmet with semi-gloss varnish so that it is set apart from the fabric parts of the suit. Choose the shades from period photographs; the finish of the equipment differed from machine to machine.
The set suits modelers who are building American aircraft of this period and want a crew with them. The figure is not made of polystyrene and is glued with cyanoacrylate; try the fit dry beforehand.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
