Marble and Granit, part two is a printed paper sheet imitating stone surfaces in 1:6 scale. It is a diorama accessory, not a kit and not a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A continuation of the range of printed surfaces that save the labor of painting stone. The sheet suits floors, wall facings, furniture tops, staircases and the bases under figures in 1:6 scale. The material is paper, so there is no waiting for paint to dry and no mixing of shades — the surface is simply cut to size and glued down. It is neither a kit nor a waterslide decal.
With stone, what matters is the size of the tile against the figure. In 1:6 scale a figure stands about thirty centimeters tall, so even an ordinary tile takes up a noticeable area in the scene — compare the pattern with the figure before gluing. If the pattern comes out too fine, the surface looks more like mosaic. Plan the layout of the cut pieces with the print in your hand.
Glue the paper over its whole area with a thin layer of PVA glue and push the air out from the center outwards. Go over the cut edges with paint in the tone of the stone so that no white paper shows. You suggest relief by gluing the individual pieces on backing of very slightly different thickness. Build the age with a dust shade into the corners and fine streaks along the line of movement. Choose the final varnish to suit the kind of stone: semi-gloss for granite, glossier for polished marble. Two thin coats of varnish hold better than one heavy one.
This is a printed paper accessory for a diorama, not a model. Glue, varnishes and a backing board are not included in the package.
