WWII Road Signs, part five is a printed paper sheet with period traffic signs in 1:6 scale. It is a diorama accessory, not a kit and not a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
Another part of the range of printed sheets with period markings for large dioramas. The paper print is cut out, backed and set into a scene with figures and vehicles in 1:6 scale. It is not a kit, the package holds no plastic or photo-etched parts, and it is not a waterslide decal either. The period look of the signs is here only so that the scene comes across as convincing.
In a large scale a sign stands about as tall as a figure, so it strongly affects the composition. It works well to set it up so that it forms a simple triangle with the figure — the sign, the figure and a third element of the scene. If the figure is looking at the sign or passing it, a story forms without any need for further props. Plan the layout according to the actual print.
Glue the design to thin plastic, card or metal sheet and let it dry under a weight; cut the outline only afterwards and go over the edge with dark paint. Sink a post of wooden strip or tube into the base and secure it with a wire pin so that a large sign holds. Build the weathering in thin layers: a thinned wash into the joints, rubbing of the edges with a dry brush and a dust shade from the bottom up. Suggest rust only where the metal actually touches the mounting. Finish with matte varnish in two thin coats.
This is a printed paper accessory for a diorama, not a model. Glue, paints and material for the posts are not included in the package.
