WWII Road Signs is a printed paper sheet with period traffic signs from the Second World War in 1:6 scale. It is a diorama accessory, not a kit and not a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet holds printed period markings and signs from the Second World War, meant to complete a scene with large figures and vehicles in 1:6 scale. The material is paper: the designs are cut out and glued, not floated off in water like a decal. These are period images used to make the scene convincing.
The 1:6 scale is merciless about detail — the viewer is standing practically at the sign. It therefore pays to back the design with a stiffer material, preferably thin plastic, card or aluminum sheet, and only then cut the outline. Make the post or supporting frame from a wooden strip or a profile; a thickness that would look coarse in 1:35 is exactly what is needed here. Plan the structure according to the actual print.
Glue the paper over its whole area with a thin layer of PVA glue and press it down through a soft pad, otherwise bubbles will form. Go over the cut edges with paint in the tone of the backing. In a large scale it is worth adding texture: a fine spray of sand color from a long distance gives the paper a grain, rubbing with a dry brush brings out the edges, and a weak wash deepens the engraving of the support. A sign tilted slightly or with one corner bent looks more convincing than a perfectly flat one. Finish it all with matte varnish, which blends the sheen with the surrounding scene.
This is a printed paper accessory for a diorama, not a model. Backing materials, glue and paints are not included in the package.
