This plastic set from Trumpeter contains several pieces of the Ka-29 helicopter in 1:700 scale. It is not a stand-alone helicopter model but an accessory for filling models of ships in the same scale. The parts are usually molded in clear plastic. Glue, paints and the target ship model are not included in the package.
The Ka-29 (NATO reporting name Helix-B) is a Soviet and later Russian helicopter with two coaxial rotors, adapted for naval service. It serves to carry an assault force and to support landing operations from the decks of ships. The coaxial arrangement of the rotors does away with a tail rotor and saves space on deck.
The rotors and the landing gear are very small, so separate them with a sharp knife and glue them with cyanoacrylate or thin plastic cement. They can be painted with a brush as well as an airbrush; apply the base color first, then the details. The finished helicopters are placed on the helicopter deck or in the hangar of the ship model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
