The designation TbtsK C/36 refers to a naval gun of 15 cm caliber brought in during the second half of the 1930s, which was originally intended for the armament of larger destroyers. The weapon was installed in an enclosed shield with a rounded face, with a fairly long barrel and a mounting allowing a large traverse. The same type of gun was used in the war years away from ships as well, in land-based artillery positions along the coast. It is precisely this variant that this model captures; a sister item from the same manufacturer represents the naval version, so the two sets make up a pair and differ in exactly the way the weapon is mounted.
Resin differs from plastic at every step. First wash the parts with lukewarm water and a little detergent, so that residues of the release agent are removed from the surface, otherwise paint will not hold on them. Never break the casting blocks off, but cut them off with a saw or a cutting disc and then level the surface with a file. Sanding resin creates a fine dust that should not be breathed in, so work with respiratory protection and preferably wet. It is glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue, ideally gel, because ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting. For an artillery position a matte base comes in handy, into which dusting with pigments and restrained traces of abrasion on the moving parts of the barrel and the mounting are then layered; bring the metal surfaces out with graphite or with metallic paint applied with a dry brush.
The model is supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted. Cyanoacrylate glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
