312th Squadron RAF, Part V is the fifth part of a decal series in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AML Decals, devoted to the machines of No. 312 (Czechoslovak) Fighter Squadron RAF.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale closing another chapter of the series devoted to No. 312 (Czechoslovak) Fighter Squadron RAF. It holds two color options and color drawings showing the placing of the national insignia, the identification letters and additional markings. The set is an addition to a kit; the model itself is not included in the box.
In the later phase of the war No. 312 Squadron flew Spitfires in both low-altitude and high-altitude versions and carried out escort, patrol and strike duties over Western Europe. The color schemes of the machines from this period differ markedly from the early Hurricanes both in the shades of camouflage and in the form of the national insignia, which went through several changes during the war. Once the fighting ended, the unit returned with its aircraft to a liberated Czechoslovakia.
Late British schemes have a great many large areas on which every silvery edge shows, so do not skip the gloss varnish under the decals. Cut the motif out closely, soak it and transfer it to a dampened spot where it can still be moved. Settle the large identification letters on the fuselage in one attempt, prick any bubbles with the tip of a scalpel and press them down with a decal softener. A final matte or semi-matte varnish creates the base for washes and fine weathering.
Decals are a modeling addition. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
