HGW 4 Colour Lozenge Upper - Transparent 1:72 is a decal sheet with the four-color German factory camouflage pattern (lozenge) for the upper surfaces of First World War models in 1:72 scale.

This set of decals reproduces the four-color lozenge camouflage print with which the fabric of German aircraft was printed at the factory during the First World War. This version holds the pattern for the upper surfaces of the wings and fuselage in 1:72 scale. The four-color version has a slightly simpler color composition than the five-color one; otherwise it serves the same purpose. The surface has a fine texture resembling fabric and the colors are pitched to a slightly faded tone.
The decals are transparent, so they are applied onto a light painted base. The shade of the base (white, cream, yellow) can be used to differentiate the individual panels slightly and to achieve the natural irregularity of machines of the day.
Smooth the base and go over it with gloss varnish. Cut the shape of the panel out of the sheet with an overlap of about 2 mm, settle the decal and press it down with a setting and softening solution. Once dry, trim the excess with a sharp blade and seal the surface with varnish. The lower surfaces are covered by a separate sheet with lighter shades.
This is a modeling accessory (decals), not a kit. The paints, the varnish and the models are not included in the package.
