A set of masks from kabuki tape for models of the attack aircraft A-4M and A-4KU Skyhawk in 1:72 scale, the EXPERT configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-4 Skyhawk is an American single-seat carrier attack aircraft, small, light and successful enough to have served for decades in many countries. The designation A-4M is carried by the late configuration for the United States Marine Corps, and the A-4KU is a closely related version delivered to Kuwait. You recognize both versions by the enlarged dorsal fairing behind the cockpit.
Pre-cut masks from kabuki tape for models of the A-4M and A-4KU in 1:72 scale. The line offers a BASIC variant for the same aircraft as well; this is the EXPERT configuration. The exact extent of the masks and the kit they are cut for are stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Kabuki tape follows rounded shapes well and leaves no glue once taken off. Apply the masks onto a clean and degreased surface always before spraying, never onto a finished finish. Press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a wooden skewer, so that the paint does not run under them. Depending on the extent of the set, the masks are applied to the cockpit glazing, to the wheels or to other places that are to stay unsprayed. Apply the paint in thin coats; one thick coat runs under more easily than three light ones. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, while the finish is young, and pull it back over itself, not at a right angle away from the surface.
For modelers who are building the Skyhawk in 1:72 scale and want sharp edges of the cockpit framing without the lengthy blocking out with strips of tape. Working with the masks is quick and even a less experienced builder can manage it.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
