1:72 Avro Vulcan B.2 bomb bay details is an Eduard photo-etched set aimed at the detail of the bomb bay of a model of the Avro Vulcan B.2 bomber in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts intended to work up the bomb bay area on a model of the Avro Vulcan B.2 in 1:72 scale. On large bombers the bomb bay is among the places where injection-molded plastic runs into its limits: both the roof and the walls of the space are in reality densely broken up by beams, stiffeners and runs of pipes and cables, which are reproduced in a mold only in simplified form. Photo-etched sheet makes it possible to layer this structure at a realistic thickness. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard.
The Avro Vulcan B.2 was a British bomber with a striking delta wing, one of the trio of so-called V bombers. The B.2 version had, against the first series, an altered wing of greater span and more powerful engines, which gave the aircraft a higher ceiling. The power came from four jet engines built into the wing roots, which is one of the design solutions the type is recognized by at first glance. The Vulcan served the Royal Air Force for several decades and was progressively adapted to changing requirements for armament and employment. The extensive bomb bay in the fuselage is a characteristic feature of it and on a model is clearly visible with the doors open.
Detailing a bomb bay makes sense only if you plan to build the model with the doors open. So decide before the fuselage is glued together, as the space is hard to reach afterward. Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel, bend them along the marked score lines and glue them with super glue applied with the tip of a toothpick. The whole space is best painted in layers: first a primer for metal, then a lighter base shade of the interior, and finally the bringing out of the edges and fine soiling, so that the structure stands out. Work with good lighting and a magnifier, as the parts are very small in this scale.
It is not a kit of the aircraft. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
