Kabuki masks for the B-52G and B-52H Stratofortress at the BASIC level, 1:72 scale from New Ware are an accessory for painting a model, not a kit. You can handle the extensive glazing of the bomber without hours of handwork.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from New Ware intended for a model of the eight-engine B-52G or B-52H bomber in 1:72 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki paper, which holds its shape, follows gentle curves well and leaves no adhesive on the finish when removed. The set is not a model of the aircraft: it is an accessory used while painting one.
The Stratofortress has intricate flight deck glazing with a great many short straight frames. They are the hardest part of a model to line by hand: the brush slips, the stroke is not the same width and a correction means repainting the glass too. A pre-cut mask sidesteps that problem and, above all, gives you back the time you would otherwise spend on touching up.
If a matte film is left on the glass after the mask is removed, do not reach for a thinner, as it would dissolve the finish underneath as well. A soft microfiber cloth, moistened with clean water if necessary, and a gentle circular motion are enough. Remove residue in the corner of a frame with a wooden toothpick, never with a metal tool. The clarity of the glass is then restored by a thin coat of gloss clear.
The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
