A decal sheet for a model of the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress bomber in 1:72 scale. It will add national insignia, codes and inscriptions to a model according to the references of the sheet's manufacturer.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress is the last and most numerous production version of the American heavy bomber of the Second World War. Four radial engines power it and it is distinguished from the older versions above all by the chin gun turret under the nose, added because of head-on attacks by fighters. Machines of the Eighth Air Force carried prominent identification markings of their units on the tail surfaces and wings, so with this type decals decide the final impression a model makes more than with most aircraft.
Decals for a model in 1:72 scale. The extent of the sheet, that is, which machines and what schemes it covers, as well as the exact placement of the individual elements on the model, is described by the enclosed instructions.
The base has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise a haze will appear under the film. Clear coat the model with gloss clear first, then. Cut the element out close to the edge, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it starts to slide on the backing. On the model bring it into place with a soft brush and draw the excess water off with a cloth. Over rivets and panel lines softener will help. Finally go over the model with matte clear coat.
For modelers who want to mark their model differently from what a kit offers, or who need to replace old decals whose carrier film has already yellowed.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive form; soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond recovery.
The package contains a decal sheet. The kit, paints and clear coats are not included, unless stated otherwise.
