This set of figures from Italeri captures the British light infantry of the 95th Regiment, famous under the nickname the Green Jackets. The package holds figures in many different poses cast in soft plastic, which lend themselves superbly to dioramas and to the wargaming table. This is a set of small figures, not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft.
The 95th Regiment was an elite British rifle unit of the Napoleonic Wars. Unlike the line infantry in their red coats, its soldiers wore distinctive dark green uniforms for better concealment and were armed with accurate Baker rifles. They also played a crucial part in the Battle of Waterloo.
The figures are cast in soft plastic, on which ordinary modeling cement holds poorly — use super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting, wash the mold release agent off the parts and apply a suitable primer. Paint with acrylics, and bring the dark green uniforms to life with drybrushing and a light highlight of the folds.
The figures are supplied unglued and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
