This is a finished collector model of the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier in 1:72 scale from Ge Fabbri. The model carries the markings of an airborne unit within the international KFOR mission, Pristina 1999. It combines metal and plastic parts, it is factory-assembled and painted and is usually supplied on a base.
The BTR-80 is a wheeled armored personnel carrier with eight-wheel drive, amphibious capability and a turret with machine gun armament. Vehicles of this type were also deployed within the international peacekeeping missions in the Balkans at the end of the 1990s, where they carried out transport and patrol duties. The finish shown matches that deployment.
The model has the chassis, the hull and the turret worked out and tends to be supplied with a base for display. The color scheme and the markings match the chosen real subject. The combination of metal and plastic gives the model a pleasant weight and detail alike.
The model is supplied assembled and painted, ready for display. It is not meant for building or gluing.
