Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masking stencils from the Czech maker New Ware for the model of the Lockheed C-130H in 1:72 scale. This is not a kit but an accessory for painting. The Advanced release stands between the Basic and Expert variants, so its extent of coverage is wider than that of the basic set. The specific list of masked areas is given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
The flight deck of the Hercules has large glazing composed of many panels, and on top of that side windows which repeat along the fuselage. It is precisely the repeating elements that give away every inaccuracy, because the eye of the viewer compares one window with another. In 1:72 scale the frame of the glazing moreover comes out at tenths of a millimeter, so nobody will trace it equally wide by hand. A pre-cut mask gives all the windows the same line and keeps the vertical and the longitudinal frames in one plane. The set also saves the time that would otherwise be spent cutting masks out of tape against a ruler.
Work on clean and degreased glazing, ideally shortly after taking the part out of its bag. Lay the mask down by one edge first and only then press it down as a whole; it is easier to fine-tune that way. Around the curves of the cockpit, repeat the pressing of the edge even after the first coat of paint has dried, because the paper tends to lift in a bend. The so-called sealing of the edge helps: first spray a thin coat of the shade that is under the mask, that is, the color of the glazing or the interior, and only then the top covering color. Any running underneath will then not be visible. Any residue of adhesive, should it appear after all, can be removed with a cotton bud moistened in alcohol, never with a solvent for paints.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
