Captured fighters in Finnish service 1:72 is a decal sheet from the Hungarian manufacturer SBS Model with the markings of captured fighter aircraft of the Finnish Air Force of the Second World War. An accessory for models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the Hungarian manufacturer SBS Model carries over into 1:72 scale one of the most distinctive themes of the Second World War: the fighter aircraft that the Finnish Air Force acquired as spoils and took into its own service. A smaller scale means a quicker build and less room taken up in the display case, an ideal way to widen a collection by a machine with an unconventional story.
The Finnish Air Force fought with limited resources, so every airworthy machine was worth its weight in gold. Captured aircraft went through repair, received Finnish national insignia and tactical codes and served alongside the standard equipment. The result was camouflage schemes you will not find with the original users, exactly the kind of subject that reliably draws attention at a modeling show.
In 1:72 scale the motifs are small, so transfer them with tweezers and the tip of a soft brush. The base has to be gloss, otherwise silvering will appear under the decal. Settle the smaller motifs one at a time, soak the surplus water up with a paper tissue and at the end seal everything with a layer of varnish, which visually joins the decals with the surface of the model.
The decal sheet is an accessory; the model of the aircraft itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
