A finished collector model of the British tank Challenger 1 in the form of its deployment in Iraq in 1991, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Challenger 1 was the British main battle tank of the 1980s. It built on composite armor and a heavy 120 millimeter gun and moved both protection and performance markedly on from the older generation of British tanks. The best known chapter of its service was its deployment in the Persian Gulf in 1991, where British units covered long desert marches with these machines. It is precisely that form of the vehicle that the model captures.
The model is supplied finished. It is not assembled, glued or painted, so it only has to be unpacked and set up. The 1:72 scale is among the most widespread for military equipment: the vehicle takes up little room in a display case and combines well with aircraft and figures in the same scale, which comes in useful when building a larger scene.
Place the model out of direct sunlight, otherwise the matte desert shades will fade in time. Remove dust with a soft brush or a dry cloth; damp cleaning and preparations with solvents harm the printed markings and the fine parts. When handling it, hold the model by the hull or the turret, not by the barrel, the antennas and other thin parts, which bend easily.
It will be picked up by collectors of modern armor, those interested in the conflicts of the end of the twentieth century and modelers who need a finished vehicle for a scene without building and without painting.
This is a finished collector model; you need neither paints nor glue for it, unless stated otherwise.
