This injected plastic kit captures the Chinese Type 59 main battle tank. The model consists of sprues of light gray plastic and is fitted with full-length one-piece flexible tracks. It is a quick and rewarding build, suitable even for modelers who are starting out with military vehicles.
The Type 59 was the Chinese license version of the Soviet T-54A medium tank. Following the technology transfer agreement of 1956 it became the basis of the armored forces and, in many variants, stayed in service for many decades. It was notable for its low silhouette, its cast hemispherical turret and its proven gun, which made it one of the most widespread tanks of its era.
Assemble and fine-tune the running gear before closing the hull. Use a liquid modeling cement on the plastic and apply the base with an airbrush. The uniform green surface will come to life with lightened edges, a wash into the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
