This product is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale intended for a model of the twin-engine Siebel Si 204. It is not a model and not a kit — it is an accessory with which you replace or add to the markings on a plastic model you have already built. HAD Models is a brand specializing in decals for aircraft modelers. The particular make-up of the sheet, the number of marking options and the extent of the technical lettering are given on the packaging and in the instructions in the package from the manufacturer.
The Siebel Si 204 was a twin-engine monoplane of mixed construction that came about by developing the smaller Fh 104 type. It was used as a light transport machine and above all as a trainer for the training of multi-engine pilots, navigators and radio operators. Its glazed nose and twin vertical tail surfaces are characteristic. Series production took place among other places in Bohemia and Moravia, and that is exactly why the type did not disappear with the end of the war: in Czechoslovakia it continued to be built under the designation Aero C-3, and in France as the NC.701 and NC.702 Martinet. For modelers the Si 204 is therefore interesting in its postwar and civil guise too.
The surface under the decals has to be smooth and glossy — a gloss varnish prevents silvering under the carrier film. Trim the sheet as close around a design as possible, soak it in warm water for only a few seconds and let the decal rest on paper until it releases by itself. Help it into place with a setting solution, so that it settles into the engraved lines and over curved surfaces, and draw off the surplus water with a paper tissue. Once it is dry, spray the whole model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, which blends the edges of the film with the surface.
This is not a kit. The model, paints, glue and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
