A decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AML offers markings for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-2 fighter. A sound solution if you want to give your model a different look from the boxed scheme of the kit.
The F version, nicknamed the Friedrich, marked a considerable aerodynamic step in the development of the Bf 109: the rounded spinner, the cleaner wing and the cowling gave the aircraft an elegant silhouette and excellent flying qualities. The F-2 subversion, with the DB 601N engine and a 15 mm cannon firing through the propeller hub, entered the fighting in 1941, over the English Channel and at the opening of the campaign on the Eastern Front. Many German fighter pilots regarded the Friedrich as the best flying version of the whole line.
In a small scale work patiently with the individual subjects: soak the decal only briefly, let it release on the backing and transfer it to the model with a flat brush or with tweezers held by the backing paper rather than by the subject itself. A gloss base and a drop of decal softener will make sure that even the small lettering adheres without silvering. A final coat of varnish evens the surface out.
This is a decal sheet; the aircraft model is not included in the package.
