Decals 1:72 P-39 Airacobra — Alexander Pokryshkin — a decal sheet from AML with markings for the P-39 fighters (the K-1 and N-0 versions) flown by one of the most successful Soviet fighter pilots.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:72 scale brings markings for the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighters connected with the name of Alexander Pokryshkin. The sheet covers aircraft of the K-1 and N-0 versions, a chance to build the aircraft of one of the most famous fighter pilots of the Second World War.
The P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter of unusual layout, with the engine mounted behind the pilot and a cannon firing through the propeller hub. While it did not make a great career with the western Allies, the Soviet Air Force, to which it was delivered under Allied aid, used it to excellent effect. Alexander Pokryshkin, who fought on Airacobras in the air battles over the Kuban in 1943 among others, achieved more than fifty confirmed victories and is among the most successful Allied fighter pilots of the whole war. His aircraft are a permanently sought-after subject among modelers.
Prepare the base with gloss varnish and apply the markings the classic wet way. With the stars on the fuselage, mark the position out lightly in advance, as symmetrical placing lifts the final impression considerably. A decal softener helps the decals to settle into the engraved joints, and once dry even the surface out with varnish and, if you wish, fine weathering.
This is a decal sheet; the aircraft model is not included in the package.
