This is not a kit of a gun but an accurate accessory: a turned metal barrel in 1:72 scale that replaces the plastic barrel from the kit out of the box. It is made by Aber of Poland, a specialist in metal and photo-etched parts for modelers. The metal replacement is perfectly straight, it has a faithful profile and it does away with the parting seams and the warping typical of a bulky injection-molded part.
The German 21 cm Mörser 18 heavy howitzer belonged to the higher performance class of artillery in the Second World War. It served to destroy fortifications and area targets at long range, and its massive, long barrel is characteristic of the weapon.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean it up, and adjust the mating surface to the diameter of the metal part. Glue the metal with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the surface before painting and lay down a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the paint holds badly. Fill the transition between metal and plastic if needed.
The accessory holds neither the model nor glue or paints; it serves to modify a kit bought separately.
