DK Decals 1:72 Hurricane Mk.I and Sea Hurricane Mk.I P.2 is the second part of a decal series for models of the Hurricane in its first production version and its naval conversion. It holds only decals, not a model.

The second installment of a decal series in 1:72 scale devoted to the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I and its naval version, the Sea Hurricane Mk.I. The sheet is a product in its own right with its own selection of markings — it does not repeat the contents of the first part, so the two parts complement each other. In the package you will find decals and instructions; a plastic model and paints are not part of it.
The Sea Hurricane came about by converting the land-based Hurricane for the needs of the navy. The simplest versions were meant to be launched from a catapult mounted on a merchant ship; once its task was done, the aircraft did not land back on board, because it had no equipment for that. Later versions did get an arrestor hook and operated from aircraft carriers. The land-based Mk.I remained simpler in construction throughout than the all-metal fighters of the day — the fuselage was a tubular truss structure covered with fabric, which made field repairs easier. The differences between individual machines are interesting to a modeler mainly in the details of the propeller, the exhausts and the shape of the glazing.
The quality of the base decides. Let the paint cure properly and only then apply the intermediate gloss coat — on a fresh application the decal can pick the paint up with it. Work one decal at a time, not the whole sheet at once. The water should be lukewarm, not hot, or the adhesive will be washed away. Large markings on the fuselage will seat better if you help them with a soft damp brush pressed from the center to the edges. Over engraved lines, a light prick with the tip of a scalpel and a drop of softener will help the decal drop into the groove and avoid a bubble. If you store the sheet for a longer time, keep it in its wrapper, flat and away from damp; older decals tend to be more brittle and take less handling.
The package holds only the decals. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
